Test run around the block

Just needed to tell someone. Fired up the truck and actually drove it around the block a few times for the first time. Had a few neighbors come out, probally due to the fact that there is no tail pipe yet. Got some thumbs up. Felt great, found somethings that need to be adjusted, but I knew I would. Have to adjust the shift linkage so I can get into third and also adjust the brakes. Also had the radiator hose slide off the goose neck after I parked it in the driveway, not very fun.

Who knows, I may just make it to the Nationals in 2010!

  • Congratulations Lance! You will have all the kinks worked out in short order. It's always nice to hear about someone getting their Hudson on the road. Keep us posted.

Hey Lance, Ask Jack Landers about his maiden voyage in his Blown Alcohol Flat Bottom K-Boat at Irvine Lake several weeks ago. The steering broke and sunk it but was able to get it back on the trailer with no damage except water. He did get all the water cleared out of everything and is now ready for part 2 this week. Your truck sure looks great. :) Ron

Thanks Ron. I will ask Jack about that, sounds like quite a ride!
  • Hey Lance congrats on your first lap. I remember mine, heading out after dark and coming across the tell-tale stream of oil from the leaky front seal! BTW, SoCal is revisiting Funky Junk Farms on Saturday the 11th - 1:00 pm - see website /newsletter for details.
