How to Pull Dampener Bolt?
I'd like to change the timing cover seal, but I've got to pull the dampener bolt. Motor is turning as I pull on the wrench. Car is off the ground, I've tried putting it in gear and engaging parking brake, but clutch seems to be slipping as driveshaft holds still, but motor keeps turning.
Suggestions? Thank you!

Put a wrench on the bolt, brace it aginst the frame,( pull the coil wire) hit the starter button. I also recommend the radiator be way out of the way.0

Spot on Dave, see you have done it before, only way to go.
Just make sure you have a good fitting socket or ring spanner, not an open ended spanner.0 -

I have done many this way. I use a socket and a 'breaker bar, put socket on bolt, rest (hold) breaker bar against drivers side frame. disconect coil, have some one 'bump the starter button" and usually the bolt will come loose. Might have to bump the starter a couple of times, but it has always work for me.
You can do this by yourself if you hook up a remote starter button and use that while you hold the bar against the frame.
Best method to use if you don't have an impact wrench or space is limited.
Good Luck!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Just tried it out, took longer to hook up the battery than to break loose the bolt! I love this forum,

No problem, someone will always come up with an answer, because we have been there and done that.
