Hi guys, I'm looking for the bottom rear fender molding for a convert, coupe or hollywood. I believe the same molding would work for my '51 Hornet convert.

Thanks,

Larry

Larry, these longer moldings are getting hard to find. Don't rule out getting the fender molding and a door molding for a sedan and having them spliced to make a long one. Also, in addition to the models you mentioned, the fender molding from a brougham (2-door sedan) should also work.
  • I think 50 commodore and super would be the same, as well????

does the 51 have the concave, convex proflie to it? like 50 moldings?

The bottom molding, which runs along the bottom of the doors and covers the heads of the screws that attach the rocker panels are oval in cross section and were painted on '51s. The bumper molding, aka "eyebrow", which runs from the porkchop to the rocket is convex-concave. Believe Commodores, and Super Sixes have the same moldings at the bottom of the door and bumper in '50 and '51. May also find bottom piece in stainless. Walt- LA
  • Let me clairify, I need the very bottom molding that covers the screws that attach the fender. I believe that any two door model will work from 1948 to 1953. My stainless moldings are ok. Thanks for all your replies.

  • I guess we need futher clarification....

there are different style of moldings...

my 50 has the lower concave/convex moldings, 48-49 supers have regular curved moldings. later, 52, 53's have painted rounded sheet metal style molding, not sure what is correct for 51's
  • It's the rounded sheet metal molding at the very bottom of the fender where the fender is screwed to the car. Thanks to all for looking and assisting in this quest.
