wished I still had my favorite Hudson

Here in Reno, Nevada is the annual HOT AUGUST NIGHTS event. I am tired of the tri five Chevies and first generation Mustangs at all the cruise events around the country. I am sure others feel the same. Hopefully someone will bring a Hudson or two to this event. Mine is apart, but hopefully next year I can bring it. Many of these cars on display are replacements for the owners first or favorite car that they once had. That makes me think of my favorite Hudson, a '49 Commodore six sedan with radio, heater and overdrive. I bough it in Seattle in the early sixtties for sixty five dollars. It was a great car, drove it all over, covered many states and miles. It was the first Hudson that I replaced the clutch in, did that at night with a flashlight stuck out in the Nevada desert. When I got married, myu wife liked that Hudson to a point but she had heard stories about the car and places it had been. I was living in Enumclaw, Washington at the time and someone from the past came by the house and wrote in the dust on the Hudsons trunk lid,Nevada memories, and my wife decided that the Hudson had to go. One day when I came home from work it was gone. Ireally do miss that HUdson, I have had several since, but that one is special and always will be.
