How can you find the history ownership?

No way that I know of!
Only possible way would be to trace it back through each owner, one by one. One way to find possible former owners would be to contact the person assigned to keep a registry on a particular year of style of Hudson (see back pages of WTN) and ask him/her if your car's serial number shows up on the list. Someone might have placed it on the registry years ago, in which case you have a starting point for asking that person about the car's owners previous to him -- if he is still alive and can be found, of course!0 -
Since some police departments enlist the help of psychics to solve crimes, maybe a local psychic could do a "reading" on your vehicle. Man, talk about a long shot.0

Thanks,

This company will trace the history of a car. For a fee of course.

In the post-9/11 world, it is getting increasingly more difficult to do title searches like what you want to do. In fact, many states will release this info only to law enforcement agencies these days. What used to be really simple to do in states like Oklahoma, Colorado, Texas, and California is damn near impossible without a warrant.
I had a '69 Dodge Dart GTS 440 car back in the late '80s. I was able to track down all eight of the previous owners (in four states!) and actually corresponded with the first, third, seventh, and eighth owners directly, and found out where the car was sold originally, in SLC, UT. Is it impossible? No. These days, I'd have a considerably tougher time doing that very same thing. And my car was 21 years newer than the last Hudson built!
Remember, the original owner of a Stepdown would be anywhere from 75 to 110 years old today!
Good luck!
As to finding the original dealer that sold your car new...unless the original and subsequent owners were meticulous service and sales record-keepers, you'll have a very hard time figuring that one out, especially if that car is no longer in the area where it was originally sold!0 -
Hey Lance, I assume you had your truck apart and didn't find any evidence hidden between the seats.? Old paperwork in the glovebox? Barring that contact the '47 Registry keeper and ask for a any copies he's had of the registry, and although it might be hard, try and see if your state's DMV actually kept title records... as Patrick says maybe you need to make friends with a cop. haha I totally understand wanting to know the full history of your Hudson.0

All right all, what a challange. Lets see, in my spare time I can search down DMV records, ask some cops for help (maybe after I get it road worthy), Track down who bought it from whom... Well i do like a challange... Thanks for everyones input. I will let you know if I get anywhere.0

There is one more option, you could dust the car for oil stained fingerprints and get an exact match...oh wait that involves the cops too. LOL Good luck man.0

Lance, Didn't You get your truck from Glen Johnson? Ask Him who he got the truck from then contact that owner and see who he got it from. I traced My 54 coupe through 4 owners after finding a reciept for a trans rebuild under the front seat. It may be a long shot but sometimes it works.

I like the way you think Aaron, very funny!
Yes I did Bob, I may go that way. Was just wondering if there was a simple way to log in the serial number and find out. I know now that that is not the case. Thanks.0 -
I had a car that I sold a few years back. Some guy called me a couple of months ago asking me all about this car. I asked him how he found out that I had owned the car and how he got my phone number. My phone number isn't even in the phone book. He knew everywhere I had lived my entire life! One address was over twenty years old. Named several other cars I had owned, my parents names addresses and phone numbers, as well as my brother's. He got it from zaba. You can get criminal records of anyone, assets they have, if it's public record you can get it! He tracked me down through the vin number. Scary this internet thing!0

Zaba knows all...0

Wow, that is a scary thing. Not looking to do that to someone, just find where the truck was first sold and what states it has been in.0
