Not a Hudson in sight :(

I just spent a hour walking around the annual Port Orchard Cruzin - probably 200-300 cars and not a single flipping Hudson of any vintage in sight
In fact I think there were more custom PT cruisers than old cars - kinda a waste of time.
Then some r-tard troll of a woman - who's Great Dane must have outweighed her by 50lbs couldn't control her freaking dog who wanted to take Rambos head off for dinner - I had to put myself between the 2 dogs and I just glared at her and yelled "Control your F-n dog! If you can't control the dog you shouldn't be walking it around a crowd of people and small children."
If it had been 100 years ago - I'd have backhanded her and her POS dog!
Rambo is never the aggressor - but if a dog starts growling at him he stands his place!
There- I've vented and Rambo got home without getting mauled - now I feel better!

Dan;
I can sypathize with you , my dog Wiley goes with me to the flying field where I fly RC airplanes, which I will carry in the Hash when I get it moving. Anyway, some people see Wiley and decide their dog needs to be at the field but they don't always have good control of their dogs, Wiley just avoids conflicts but it's always a pain to have to intercede on my dogs behalf, many dogs are well behaved but most aren't. I went to a car show at Oak Glen a couple of weeks ago and the best car there was a Packard 161, a few mid fifties cars but most were later model Camaros and Mustangs, not a Hudson in the pack, not even a Hash. I plan on remedying that once I get the tranny fixed.

ALL DOGS CATS AND MONKEYS STAY AT HOME and do not belong at car shows or any other public place where I and kids do not like them and they do not belong.
My 2 cents about this and I love animals. Ron, Animal Lover

Careful Ron - you'll have ladies like my daughter KC letting their chiuaua's loose on you!!! LOL
I fully agree with you, to an extent. Medium to large dogs should not be around cars - unless they are controlled and/or trained to be around crowds. KC has a 95 pound rottweiler I would let her bring to any car meet - but she has him trained (and besides, he's a pussy cat!!! LOL)
Smaller dogs like Poms, Min Pin's, chiuaus that can be carried should be ok. KC has a carrying pack for her little one. She will stay in the pack.

My 49 Brougham had a great week. At last Sundays "Cruisin on Main" in downtown Manchester, CT, the car won the "Mayors Trophy" this is considered "Best Of Show". There were over 1200 cars and 33,000 people.
Yesterday I went to the Connecticut American Motors Owners meet in Meridan CT. There were about 80 cars. Gremlins, AMXs Ramblers, Javalins etc. They invited the Yankee Chapter of the HET to come. We won first in the Hudson class. There were only 5 Hudsons there. Then they invited me to come back for the evenings banquet. At the banquet they presented my Hudson the "Best Of Show" award. Not bad for a Hudson to win "Best of Show" at an AMC meet.
Tonight I went to a local cruise in Rocky Hill, Ct and won the 1st place trophy.
In all 4 trophys' in one week for a Hudson, including 2 "Best of Show".0 -

I can totally understand your point - but for me if I can't take my dog, I'm probably not going.
Rambo's not only the namesake for the project "Rambos Ride" but I really only bought the big ol' 4 door Hudson so that the entire back seat area is going to be a platform for hime to ride on - an upgraded version of a Business Coupe if you will.
My plan is to drive around the country with my buddy and meet all kinds of people and see all kinds of things you can't do sitting your butt in an airplane seat. Rod runs, outdoor car shows, etc. I want to go to as many as I can.
I'm probably one of the most conscientious dog owners you'll ever meet. Rambo is highly trained and always on-leash in a crowd with a chocker collar just in case, and I watch that I steer clear of anyone that even looks like he might frighten them as it's pretty easy to spot them ~ they usually give you a wide berth.
I even go as far as to stop on narrow sidewalks and make Rambo sit if anyone is walking by and there's not enough room - I am always thanked by the passers-by if they are walking or riding a bike.
I do HATE people that have wild dogs - same as I hate people who don't control their wild kids!0 -
I'm planning on attending the GoodGuys Great Lakes Nationals this weekend, and even though it will be mostly street rods, machines, customs, etc., I'm bringing my Hudson to represent the BEST marquee. I'd be shocked if I saw another one there.
The stepdowns actually blend in quite nicely with all the chopped top customs. I just call it a 'factory chop' if anyone asks!0 -

Did you make it to the Hot-Rod-A-Rama? Check out http://hotrodarama.com That's one of my all-time favorite car shows! I don't recall seeing any Hudson there, either, unless they were chopped beyond recognition. LOL
As far as car shows, unless there's an advertised restriction for the year and/or make, I say welcome. Especially, if the "like" cars are grouped together. If the car(s) are less than 25 years old, there needs to be something noticeably unique/custom to that vehicle to warrant it be in a show. (If you haven't done anything to your newer model Cruiser or Mustang, you're welcome to head to a Krispy Kreme gathering, right?) Car show participants are for those who are Car Crazy. Encourage the newbies, they're potential Hudson recruits!
Dogs at the shows? I have dogphobia, but if the owner and dog are courteous and respectful of their surroundings, the dog is leashed at ALL times, and DON'T get ANYWHERE NEAR me, I won't FREAK. And please bring a poo bag.0 -
We didn't see you two at the Orphan and Discontinued Car show at the XXX in Issaquah on August 5th. The NorthWest chapter had 4 Hudsons there, and one soon to be member. By the way in the 1940 to 1959 class Dave Hudsons' 47 Convert took first and my 54 Hornet Coupe took second. Our next meet will be in the Tacoma area, info on Northwest Chapter website. Lou Cote0

Working part-time for a "home improvement warehouse," I work a lot of weekends unless I remember to plan ahead and request time off. Without a car to show up in yet, it's more of a come if I can thing. (A couple more weeks marks three years in the body shop! Rrrrr.) Thanks for the heads up on Sept. meet.0

Went to Pomona this weekend and I did not see another Hudson there. My poor old 46 truck may not look the best but it did get a steady stream of folks looking and asking questions. I like to think I make the other guys look good but the attention I get puts some of them to shame.
