I know I can probably find this information elsewhere but it is enjoyable to get on this list and learn from those are who living the good life. Laying around underneath a car gives you time to ponder the mysteries of design and engineering. So the other day I was wondering how to lube the U-joints on the driveline? Is it much easier than it looks or is this one of those projects that Hudson owners where as a badge of ownership?

    Harry If Your Talking About A Hash Car Thats 55,56,57 Hudson You Can Not Grease Them But They Are In The Tube And Not Exposed To The Rain And Road Grime That And Open Drive Shaft Is If I Were In There Doing Other Work I Would Replace The U Joint Along With The Drive Shaft Trunion And There Is Only 1 U joint It IS Up Front Just Behind The Tranny

  • Thanks Paul, I'll change that front U-joint while the trans is out of the car, looking at things it's possible it's still the original and even out of the weather it's made a lot of revolutions in 70,000 miles. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is the best forum I've ever been on, there is always someone here to help.

  • Paul;

    is the driveline solid at the differential? If so how is it connected and does the differential pivot to keep everything lined up? I guess I'd better get out my service manual and have a look at how all this works.
