I know this has been gone over and over, I have looked at the past threads. But I can not find the info that I was looking for.



My block is stamped 185834, what year is this 308?

    It would appear to me that this engine is from a 1952 Hornet, according to the list of vin numbers finaled it was produced in July of 1952

    Jerry is correct - serial number for July 1952 run 179412-186480, according to the 1948-1954 Monthly Model Year Production Data chart in my General Information Handbook.

    According to a 1948-1954 Production and Shipping Data chart, also in my Handbook, Hornets accounted for approximately 1/2 of total production in 1952 (35,912).
