Replace Wiring

Eventually, I want to replace some to all of the wiring in my '46 Commodore Coupe-8. I have found a couple vendors on the Internet and wonder what experience others have had with these vendors or if there are others of which I am unaware that I should consider?

    Both very expensive!
  • YnZs harness fit and work. Very concientious people. They leave the wires long & you cut & put the terminals on where they fit YOUR car1 they also supply all terminals with the loom. Bill A & I can recommend them highly.

Do I have to pull mine out ans send them to match or do they have patterns already for our beloved Hudsons?

RIW needs to have my complete harness (they even told me I had to send the dash cluster wiring).

I HAVE USED BOTH Rhode Island Wiring Service AND YnZ's I DON'T LIKE THE FACT THAT Y&Z'S YOU HAVE TO USE THERE WIREING DIGRAM ON YOUR CAR AFTER THE JOB IS DONE ( THEY USE A DIFFERENT WIRE COLOR )

Rhode Island Wiring Service YOU CAN USE THE WIREING DIGRAM THAT COMES IN YOUR OWNERS MANUAL IT'S JUST LIKE THE ORIGNAL I WOULD USE Rhode Island Wiring Service WHEN I DO ANOTHER WIREING JOB .

  • Ditto Paul. I've bought 4 harnesses from them and have had no trouble from Rhode Island Wiring.

I agree. I'm really impressed by the quality and fit of the Rhode Island harnesses.

They already have the correct patterns for your car. They offer an engine harness, dash harness, headlight harness, etc. The ones I bought from them fit perfectly in my '49 sedan. They really look like the originals.

Well, Rhode Island Wiring sounds like the one. I had that impression just from their respective websites.

Thank you all for your input.

I have had no problems with Y&Z and they were very helpful with any questions. They also modified the harness with the little modifications I wanted to make (like dual headlight relay). Great sevice and I just ordered the electric hand setup for the 37. They keep the orginal stuff people send in to be reproduced and they can go back to them at any time if there are questions.
