54 Hornet Sedan - Removing rear quarter window

I want to remove the rear quarter windows from my 54 Sedan. The chrome frames are badly pitted and need refinishing. I have removed the 4 screws holding the frame. The question is does the window and frame remove to the inside or to the outside? It appears that is should remove to the inside but it is being so stubborn, though it does move a little, that I am afraid to push on it to hard until I know I am going the right direction.

Thanks for any help you can provide,

Doug

  • Doug, after you remove the garnish moulding on the inside of the car, there are about 4 more screws behind the garnish moulding holding the quarter window to the car. These are attached to the black lacquer frame holding the window and seal rubber.Once removed, gently push the window toward the INSIDE of the car.The whole mechanism should come out without too much trouble{barring any major rust issues.} Good luck

    Lance,

Thanks for your help, AGAIN. I had the moulding off and had removed the 4 inside screws. I was just a little hesitant to lean on it too hard until I was sure which way to go.
