Clear Powder Coating
Recently somebody on this forum said that you could get clear powder coating, which I didn't know. I took a set of hood supports for my '40 in to Santa Fe Powdercoating, and sure enuff, they media blasted them and then powder coated them in clear. The result was outstanding, and probably fairly close to the original color, which is important for me because my car is unrestored. In the photo, the bottom strut is very close to the actual color. Great info on the forum. Thanks!

Saw a very nice chopped and "Victoria'd" deuce sedan the other day, done in clear powder coat, with the welds all showing. Wasn't real attractive (welds were only average quality MIG, which isn't pretty like TIG anyhow), but he said, "I did all this bodywork to make that sedan into a chopped Victoria, and darned if I'll cover it up!" The clear coat had kind of a yellowish tinge to it.0
