You need a regular 1/2 inch box wrench and you ought to have a thin 1/2 inch open end.

Thin wrenches would be a little easier, but I've done it many times with two standard Craftsman or Snap On type 1/2" open ends.0 -
I don't know if they still have them but Sears used to sell a tappet wrench set. Has all thin wrenches, made for adjusting the tapppets.

I was at Sears the other day and they still do have a Craftsman tappet wrench set with the flat type open end wrenches for $29.95.
