last night i stayed up and watched a buster keaton silent movie on the TMC network. many of his films were made in the '20's when people were so fascinated with cars. many of his stunts involved those early cars. it was a feast for an old car lovers eyes. i am getting more from netflix to see more of those fabulous old cars when they were new. regards, tom

Harold Lloyd made some great flicks as well, and did all his own stunts. Buster Keaton's "The General" has to be the all time classic if you like steam trains.
  • I saw part of the Buster Keaton movie, they were on the deck of a ship, I tried to watch it but I couldn't understand a word they weren't saying so I changed the channel.

Well, when you ain't got a wife to nag you all about all them honey-doo's I'll tell ya, you can get a lot of important Hudson stuff taken care of.

Of course you do have to be retired with not much else to do.

Last year when my wie was gone for a few days I broke out my complete matchbox car collection. Every flat surface in kitchen was covered with little cars.

I also dug out my guns which hadn't been cleaned in some time. Needless to say, I spent more than an average amount of time in the garage working on the Hudson. Also got a few more mountain bike rides in.

I'll go along with the matchbox car collection. Over the years I've accumulated about 130 or so - mostly matchbox, but 20 or 30 1:18th, 1:24th and 1:32nd size.

I went out and bought 6 three shelf book cases that were on sale for $15 each - and I still don't have enough room for them all!!!!!

Point is, now I can display all of them.
