Route 66 Rendezvous

Is anyone going out to the Roure 66 Rendezvous in San Bernardino (CA) this weekend? It would be nice if I didn't have the only Hudson out there! Last year there were two Hudsons out of over 2100 cars. It starts Thursday night and goes through Sunday.

Their website is www.route-66.org

    Wish I could join in the fun. I got a long ways to go to have my Pacemaker on the road. Can't even come down just to hang out (work). Have a good time!!
  • If Bill A wants me to drive his convertible over there for a few nights I would be willing to do that, if that offer doesn't show up and the Hash gets done in time I will drive it over. I think Bill is more likely to offer me his convertible than Fred will have the Hash done. Fred is going through everything for me but getting finished doesn't seem to be a priority, it is possible the tranny got hung back on the engine today so we are making progress.

    Hi VicTor,

    I met Ed at the meet we had there in OC in June, and had planed on going over to his shop to see about getting a new a/c unit for my Hornet and one of my brand X cars, but with my wife passing away in July, all of my plans got put aside. I am going to see him this week though, the Husdon (ok, I am) is begging for a/c!

  • Okay Kahuna, if you see someone running behind you who looks like they've lost a Hudson stop and let me ride with you. I should be pretty safe chasing any 52 Hornet I see, you'll know it's me because I'll have th forlorn look of someone on foot instead of cruising. I hate to think about all the hours I used to spend cruising E street in the late sixties and early seventies, dang those were good times, picking up complete strangers and doing a couple of laps then letting them out and looking for others, or just checking out the girls and the other cars, it's a shame what our kids and grandkids are missing now.

  • Harry,

    Yea, I put more miles than I could ever count crusin' E Street and Magnolia Ave in Riverside in the early seventies. That is why I guess it is so important for me to take my 12 y.o. grandson crusin' with me at this type of car show. Otherwise he will never have the "crusin'"experience.

    There are a lot more cars at the Rendezvouz, but other than that, it is just like crusin 'Berdoo 35 years ago.

    All of the entrants have reserved spaces this year. I will be parked on the north side 4th street (behind the court house) inbetween Mtn. View and Sierra Way. I'll be there Thur/Fri/ Sat after 5pm and Sunday 9am to 1pm.

    Just look for the bright orange (really bright) Hudson. We'll cruise.

  • Terry;

    you will only be a block away from the Hash, it is at Automatic Transmission Service at 5th and Sierra Way, on the rack. Unless of course I get a call in the next couple of days. E st is too changed now for a good cruise but with any luck it will work ok for the rendevous. It seems some interested town good set up good cruise nights once a month and generate a lot of interest. Yucaipa has it's car show the first friday of every month and it's great when everyone leaves and all the street rods are lighting up the pavement at Yucaipa Blvd and Oak Glen Rd. No cruising though. In the summer we used to go up to Lake Gregory and cruise the town of Crestline, that road wasn't any longer than Yucaipa Blvd, maybe we should start cruising downtown Yucaipa and see if we can't get something started.

    Niels, I will keep an eye out for you as well, I hope to see you too. My image could go up a notch or two just hanging out with a guy who chicks dig! My cell is (951) 941-3906. Harry, you can give me a call too if you make it out.

  • Terry;

    your number is in my cell now. How did it go tonight? I'll either see you tomorrow night or Saturday night. I'm working both days and I'm hoping I have a couple of easier days than today. One way or the other I've got to come out and see the show, and a big orange Hudson.
