Hash on the road

today I finally got to drive the Hash. I went over to the trans shop to pick it up and the first thing I had to do was fill it up with gas, Since this was the first fill up I found I have a gas leak when full, okay, I'm guessing the filler hose rotted just sitting around. I took off for home anyway. For those of you who don't know driving twenty miles with the car full of gas fumes wasn't the best trip in the world. Still, the trans works great, my timing or carbs aren't quite right so the power seems not so powerful but still the car cruised along at 55 without missing a beat, now I need to get all the lights working and fix that gas leak but I have a driver for the first time since April 14th when I bought this car. Fred went completely through the trans and told me to bring it back for final adjusting after I get the engine tuned. Hot dog, Harry and his Hash are on the road.

Great News Harry I Guess You Got The Tranny Mounts I Sent Now Drive On
    :)
  • Paul ; I did get them thank you. I thought I had sent you a note telling you so but if I didn't then let me tell everyone how much I appreciate how quickly you sent them off and a big thank you. Between you and Bill A I am well taken care of, when I returned the mounts to Bill that didn't work he tried to give me too much money back as he thought he had charged me more from them. Though I know he could have he hasn't charged me any more than what is fair for any transaction we have had. If you and Bill are representitive of how the members treat new comers then every one should buy a Hudson just to find out what it is to be dealt with fairly. A friend of mine bought a Studebaker and changed it all over to chevy so he couldn't be taken advantage of any more. It's great to be able to keep the Hash all Hudson. Except of course for those strange Nash parts floating around. I'm pretty sure the lights are Nash parts. Thanks again Paul

  • I gots me some lights now, not all of them, the headlights don't light, but I do have tail lights, turn signals and brake lights. Tomorrow I'll pull the headlights out if it's not raining and clean up the contacts to see if that helps. I used to have low beams but not high beams but now I have no beams. I changed the timing a bit and it's starting better and sounds stronger, I'll drive it tomorrow after I fix the gas tank leak. I hope I don't have to drop the tank to replace the hose but it looks like I will, it's full so I really don't want to do it yet. I'm going to do a little cruise in respect to the all CA meet this weekend.

  • Check your dimmer switch, too, if you have not already done that.
  • That is my first thought, I need to disconnect it and clean the connections, it's possible the switch has just gone bad also, it was working on one side and not the other then it's not working at all. Another funny thing, I turned the key on yesterday and the heater fan came on, I turned it off and now it won't come back on, that has to be a bad connection.

Either bad connection or a wire shorting somewhere. Check with an ammeter.

Thanks For The Kind Words I Just Treat Every One The Way I Would Like To Be Treated Myself And I've Been Hudsoning Almost 40 Years And Most All Of The Hudson People I Have Delt With Have Treated Me Great So I Try And Return The Favor To All I Deal With And Hudsoning Has A Way Of Making You Look At Things From A Higher Plane Fair Above All And

'we Would Rather Fix Than Switch '

It Was Said Alot In The 60's And 70's But I Still Believe In It

You Can Do With Your Car What You Like!!! But Mine Will Always Be All Hudson
