Mmmmm...... and the reason this non-Hudson item would interest us, would be.....?
  • haha... a freaking gold plated Jaguar hood ornament for a XJ6, wow, talk about class. probably about one of the last cars on my list that I would want to own, I can't think of a bigger crapper of a car.

Sorry Jon, I been soo good for soo long, just couldn't hold back.
  • What's next, yard sale notices?
  • You could mount the Jaguar ornament on your riding lawn mower, right next to the horn.

I don't think it's fair to put a jaguar hood ornament on something that will actually start with reliability. :p
  • C'mon. that WAS the ONLY reliable part of the car! Why were soo many converted to Chevy engine/trans/electrical components. Maybe mount it on a block for a desk ornament or paper weight.
  • AW C"MON GUYS, The cat is aftermarket crap, BUT, My son has an 88 Jag coupe made so that you can have your choice of 3 top styles in a matter of minutes, not the usual coupe model. Got the orig V12, had it 15 yrs gives NO problems and is about as classy as you can get if you want a luxury sports car.Drives like a dream, super quite, sticks to the road like you would'nt beleive, even far better than the stepdowns and I've owned several when they were still new. Don't badmouth a fine car you've never owned or driven. Chev engines? Those guys are'nt Jag fans, they're Chev fans! They even dare to put them in HUDSONS!! Maintenance problems? What's all this stuff we pass around on here? They're all machines and you have to take care of them.
  • A Doctor friend of mine has an E type Jag coupe with the V-12 The car is a dream to ride in and the sound of the V-12 is fantastic. The only problem I know of is that he carries 3 sets of spark plugs at all times #1 in the car to get to the office, and #2 to replace the set that fouls out before He heads home. #3 for replacing the odd fouled plug. The plugs are what I call peanut plugs and foul very easily. I don't know what causes them to foul but the Doc is a very knowledgeable mechanic. He also has a Packard, a AMX, as well as a couple of vintage Motorcyles ( a BSA Lightning and a Norton Commando, NO NOT a Commander LOL)

    Okay, new best reply ever!
  • I'll bet that Doctor wishes he had a chevy engine/trans/gm electricals in his E-type. He could probably do a mini overhaul on the chevy for the cost of three sets of plugs on the Jag.

HUDSONKID, how about a POLL on Jaguars????
  • Plugs? I put one set in just to get things in top shape, WHEN WE GOT IT!! BOSCH. I'm quite capeable of a few appropriate replys but I won't. Recall what I said about cars being like wives and girl friends a bit back? What one guy loves the next would'nt drag to a demolition derby or a cat fight ,and I don't see anyone in the Jag club derideing our Hudsons or any other make, They're great cars for people with differant desires in they're cars.
