46 Hudson Pickup

After low these many years I have aquired a 1946 Pickup (Thanks Dale Anholt). I have named him Jethroe. (The truck, not Dale) I am enjoying Baa Haa-ing across the fields of Leroy Twp. Ohio in Jethroe.(my fields) Three questions?



1. Does anyone have the part number for rear shocks, as they were an

optional extra and the @#$% original owner was to thrifty to order them.



2. Is it true that passenger car springs will bolt right in or are frame

modifications necessary?



3. Is it true that Dodge Dakota bucket seats will fit the cab?



Thanks for any information/ advice on my project.

    I may have the shock PN but I'm 2 days from home. Same as car shocks. Parts houses have catalogs or someone will post here.



    Yup, the car springs are the same size.



    Probably, measure the Dakota seat width and see if there is room. Also check Jeep, Mazda/Ranger PU, S10 etc

    I put shocks on my pickup with the pickup springs and the phrase "what is the point!" came to mind. There was no differance in the ride of the truck! Now if you put 500 pounds or so in the bed, now you are talking. I got mine from Bill A and I think he said it had an S-10 seat in it. A tape measure is the best advice. Remember you will have to make or adapt the seats to the floor.

    1991 suburban 2 wheel drive 1500 series trucks have the same rear shock (will work perfect), 1961 corvette on the fronts. ford ranger bench seat fits perfect, gives ya more room to steer! just take a few leaves out of your springs for a softer ride.
