Water Dist. Tube More ???

I understand the principles behind the tube (putting water at specified locations).



But what is the rest of the purpose? Are the solid sections of the tube keeping the water from going some where?



Any one have a cut away diagram or picture of a block the is cut down the middle of the tube?



What is operational results of NOT having one? Do not worry, I am not about to risk my engine. I just want to get a better understanding this part of my engine.

    Thank you. That is the explaination I was looking for.



    Now to figure out how to only remove part of the grill to completely remove the tube.

    I got the tube out!! Now I see the purpose behind the solid sections of the tube.
