2 '39 Hudsons for Sale - new member

Hi,

I have owned both the Hudsons for the past 5 or so years but since I did not have the time and facilities to work on them I decided not to sign up to the forum and get any more ideas. Now I still don't have the facilities but I also don't want to see them waste away and rather they go to a good home.

So, the cars are:

1939 2 door Hudson Brougham style, needs a restoration, the main body is solid with surface rust and original paint still showing in many places (blue), the floor has some holes around the front and in the trunk. The rear piece under the trunk lid is damaged and rusted and needs replacing. The front clip has been damaged and the bottom is missing, the side grills have been "reattached" at some point by welding (?) and the main grill has also the bottom piece missing. All of the body pieces are solid, the doors, hood, trunk, fenders all have some degrees of surface rust but no holes. Some of the fenders have some minor rips (possible previous dent). The frame is solid but has surface rust. The original engine is there (6 cyl flat head), with 3 speed tranny, differential, 3rd member, brakes, all there. The engine has not been started in who knows how long but does turn. Most of the glass is in tact, a lot of the chrome is in tact -except the rear license mount that has a broken off piece. The interior need total redoing, the seats still have the frame/springs but the material is shot, no headliner. I was in the process of tearing everything apart but work happened and I put everything back and it stayed that way since.

1939 4 door Hudson with rear suicide doors, the body and frame are in the same condition as the 2 door but the doors and rear fenders have dents - the previous owner forgot he parked it in a field during mowing. The interior is a bit worse as the seat springs are missing and the tranny hump is also missing. Other then the 3 speed tranny the running gear is gone, no engine, no 3rd member, the diff and axles are there though. Most of the chrome is there.

Both vehicles roll (or at least they did last year) and have been tarped all the time I've had them. They do need full restorations. I have some manuals including the factory parts manual and some mechanical manuals as well, some new and spare parts as well.

I would like to see both sold at the same time.

I am asking $3500 for the 2 door and $1500 for the 4 door, make an offer.

They are located in New Westminster, B.C., Canada (near Vancouver).

Please contact me in case of further questions or info, fantomdesigns@shaw.ca or 604.803.3506

Thank you

You don't mention whether you're in the H-E-T, but the best place to offer them would be in the newsletter of the Hudson club. A lot more Hudson-oriented people than regularly come here. You can get the ad in for free (if you're not a member) with the help of any Club member. If you wish, you can contact me about this: Xdetailed@verizon.net (delete the X first)

    Hay Mat,

I am doing a full restoration on a 39 Hudson convertible that had major custom work in the early 50's. Thanks for the great photo's the Country Club 4-door gave me some great shots of what my car looked like before the shop started work on her. Good luck with the sale.

That 4 door Country Club is pretty damn special. It has the longer wheelbase [looks like a 122 inch from the photos, but might be a 129 inch], the wide section bumpers, the hood side lights and the vertical head light trim pieces. Also has many different interior appointments inc dash and steering wheel. This was a 'top-of-the-line car' in it's day and most probably had the powerful eight cylinder motor. I hope someone does something with it. These are a particularly beautiful and impressive motorcar.

I've just noticed the serial number which confirms it was the 122' wheelbase Hudson Country Club Six.
