Aaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh
Dog gone it, now the front carb isn't pulling any vacuum. The dang thing is purring like a kitten at idle all the way up to mid range but I put the vacumeter on the carb and nothing, the back is pulling up to the third block. The car isn't smoking excessively and it sounds good so what the heck is going on, it's not popping up through the carb so I don't think it's stuck open intake valves, the radiator isn't bubbling and the fluid is staying consistent so I doubt it's head gaskets but I'm going to run a compression check anyway. This is starting to affect what little sanity I have left.

I went insane for months wondering why my car would sit and idle for hours, but take it out on the road and It would die and stop running till it cooled down.
Came to find out that my heat riser was sticking CLOSED thus superheating the carb and vaproizing the gas...I wired the heat riser open and other than having to let it warm up for a few minutes the problem is gone and the car runs great..0
