Well I finally got it on the road

Yes my '39 112 is now legally on the road here in the UK. I had an issue with starting which I thought was down to timing - turns out I'd timed it perfectly but when starting it the choke wasn't coming fully on and she wouldn't fire. Got a buddy to check it out , he put his hand over the carb whilst she was cranking over and she burst into life. All that was needed then was to replace the King Pins and away she went for her test. Failed on brake balance which was sorted but the testers over here don't seem to want to give any leeway to a car over a certain age.
Anyway it's now taxed and I was able to drive her home today - just in time to cover her because there's a heavy frost due!
But I don't care - I can now start to use her!

Congratulations! - That's an accomplishment to be proud of for sure. Do we get to see some pictures soon of the 39 by some well known landmarks?0 -

Dan,
You sure will as soon as I get the chance to get by some! I actually did about 13 miles yesterday and there is still a problem with her which I think is caused by the carb. I have a nos one to fit which when it stops raining / snowing over here I'll get around to. I don't have a workshop unfortunately so all of my work is done drive side.
But yesterday was great fun taking my kids for a ride in the old girl and giving my next door neighbour who's been itching for a ride these last 12 months a longish trip out so he's happy.
I have a long list of people who have all said that they want to be taken for a ride so I'm going to be busy taking people around for a while.
