Anyone seen one of these Hudson toys before?

I have to imagine that these are rare. Anyone seen one of these before? It was expensive but where you gonna find another one in the original box...

    Are you sure that car is the one that is supposed to go with the box. My buddy has the friction stepdown with siren and it looks more like a stepdown. Its completely red with chrome on front none on side like that.

    I don't know anything about these toys but I noticed the difference right off - I don't think the car matches the box either...good to have someone elses to reference...

    The one with the most toys wins! :D

    The car itself looks more like a late 40's Buick.

    Here's a metal toy that a friend purchased at a flea market in Pennsylvania years ago. Note the shape of the sides, the grille, and the small rocket-shaped emblem on the trunk. Not much doubt as to what it is! The underside of the car is stamped "HADSA", and it has no other markings.



    I'm wondering if it is a somewhat newer version of whatever that car is, that's pictured on the box in the Ebay auction? (Looks to me like a different car got into the box!) Maybe this was a post-War Japanese toy (thus the "HADSA" -- they didn't get the name just right) that began as a '48 and was later modified into a '51?

    Yep my buddies is a red version somewhat like that but with the 48-50 grill as shown on the box. You can't mistake it for a stepdown.



    I was thinking Buick as well when I saw that car.

    Even if your find proves to not be an authentic toy/box pair, it's still neat to see what's out there. I think it's fun to be able to add another dimension to our car hobby by also having memorabilia to go with it. Here's a picture of a plastic Hudson Jet toy I have that originated as a freebie from a ceral box or Cracker Jacks box back in the day. If you look close, you can make out the hood ornament. The trunk has Hudson on it. The car is only about 3/4" wide by 1-1/2 long by 1/2" tall, so it was challenging to take a detailed picture of.

    Hopefully the bottom of the car will have some markings on it. The post war Japanese toys were obviuosly not very detailed. I'll keep everyone posted.
