What's Missing From This TwinH Setup?

Dan;
I had mine welded with a filler that feeds from a torch. The biggest problem is cooling it after it's welded. We wrapped mine in insulation and set it in a warm place to cool as slowly as possible. No cracks when finished. Is that exhaust manifold for a 308 or does it matter?

Hudson308 wrote:The exhaust manifolds (including the "collector" elbow) are identical except for the second choke heat riser hole. Dan I emailed ya' letting you know I have the main linkage that bolts on the head that I can send for $25.00 post paid. It has the two head bolt brackets, longitudinal pivot shaft and two cross rods. I can email pictures if you'd like.
buy this, this is a good deal.
as far as the manifold, I think all (232-262-308) exhaust manifolds interchange, with exception to the heat riser tubes.0 -
Harry: The Twin H set up information can be found on my website at the following location:

Ken; thank you, it is now saved, which I should have done last time.

You can also get the unisync out of the "Speedway Motors" Catalog or on line. They are usually at the large ROD shows as lots of the rod guys need these to set up multiple carbs. Real simple to use and I think it only took 2 or 3 linkage adjustments on HKs to balance.0

Couldn't find one in the Speedway catalog which surprised me, but I did find this one on J.C. Whitney.

Rambo, if you don't have the main linkage shaft, buy it for $25 from "Hudson 308" That is very reasonable and you can easily make the rest.0

Yes, we're talking off-line and making sure we've got the right parts - but I think that parts a go!
Do you guys remember approx what you paid for the UniSync?0 -
dan, look on ebay for the unisyn. you can find them 10-15 bucks including shipping. i paid 10 for mine at a meet a few years back. here's a few that are on ebay right now

It looks like I've just about got the basics covered - still working on the air cleaners.
I've got a contact on some oil bath types - but with the Supermatic I think they may be too long.
Also - if I do leave that Supermatic appendage on there any TwinH air cleaners I would get would have to be modified to fit - so I don't want to hack up a really nice set of canisters either, and I wouldn't want to mislead anyone as to the possiblity of having to cut them up.
But - I don't need the air cleaners to get it running - who sells the best intake and exhaust manifold gaskets?0 -
just contact Dale cooper, for the intake/exhaust gasket, it is one single gasket. I don't think there are any issue with sealing on these, just make sure the intake and exhaust are flat, and the block has a good flat mating surface.0
-
Plus you'll want to leave the bolts between the intake and exhaust manifolds a little loose until you tighten everything against the block to get a good fit and seal on that gasket, unless you have a long flat surface to put it together on the bench.0
