I have a problem with the right rear brake on my 37 Terraplane coupe. It jams on in reverse. I had all the brakes rebuilt and there is nothing obvious wrong. Has anyone had a similar problem.
Regards Trevor
They are obviously designed not to jam so have another look at your rear brake set-up.
Make sure that the parking brake is not pulling the cable even when it appears to be in the off position. The parking brake should be backed off before adjusting the brake shoes. When yours shoes are correctly adjusted, then set up the parking and back-up brake systems.
Are the parking brake cables clean and sliding freely? Very important.
Are the shoes correctly matched to the drum radius?Maybe too thick? Goodluck. Paul.0
