The WTN arrived sat and am reading my way thru.

Really enjoyed the pics and story at back "Somewhere West of Salt Lake"

And from page 2, when I was a child we shopped at the W&D store in Fort Wayne, IN. My first time on TV was with the Santa show broadcast there. The giant reindeer and sleigh on the store is restored and displayed in Fort Wayne during the Christmas season.

Part of "Thanksgiving " should be thanks to all the people who contribute to the WTN.

Thanks Vick for the kind words about my article "Somewhere West of Salt Lake. I do not have my WTN yet, but I can tell you I am excited to see it...

  • still waiting for mine, BROWNIE IS A VERY COMPETENT WRITER, VERY ARTICULATE. HE HAS WRITTED MANY INTERESTING ARTICLES FOR HIS CHAPTER NEWSLETTER, WHICH I HAVE THOROUGHLY ENJOYED. I DONT KNOW HIS PRIMARY OCCUPATION, BUT I AM SURE HE COULD SUCEED AS A WRITER., BILL ALBRIGHT
  • I'm waiting for mine with baited breath!

    Bill,

Thanks again for the kind words. I work for the company that makes the solid rocket boosters (Thiokol Corporation) for the space shuttle program. I am an engineer that works in the center that recovers the space shuttle booster rockets and gets them ready to return to flight (restore would not quite fit a motor that generates a million pounds of thrust "horse power?") Anyway, I had a title once that read "Rocket Scientist." The company that owns us today calls me a Senior Project Engineer.

    Brownie
  • No matter what else you do in life you can always say, "yes, this is rocket science".How cool is that? Looking forward to reading your article Brownie, for some reason Yucaipa, CA is the end of the postal delivery world so I will get mine sometime before everyone else gets their next issue.

I got tired of having to wait for each issue- when I lived in Maine it got delivered either by dog sled or ponies, depending on the season. Needless to say either way took FOREVER!!!!

I moved to Memphis, things did improve a little - so when I renewed I went for First Class. Yeah, an extra fiver, but I get mine almost as fast as it's mailed, now.

Yes, to Brownie, great article - enjoyed it. I sincerly hope you plan on restoring the car - it surely would make a conversation piece at meets.

Sam, you and Mary Ann have done another great job - I got a little something for you to put under your Christmas tree, soon as I get to mailing it. Just a little something to thank you for all the great WTN's you've "editored" into life. And a couple other reasons.

    Y'all take care now, hear.

Thanks for the kind words, Alex. BTW, for those of you who have not chosen the first class mail option for WTN, please note that you are saving yourself 9.6 cents a week. With these savings, in 17 weeks you will be able to buy a "Tall" coffee at Starbucks.

  • Got mine in Newport, TN today. Great reading as always.
    Bob Hickson:) :p:D
  • Well maybe you don't have to be a ROCKET SCIENTIST to work on old cars, but Brownie sure isn't gonna hurt us none, and I've allready found out he's a very fine individual on top of that. Don't have my WTN yet, but that's what happens when you go to the BOONIES. Lookin forward to your article Brownie
  • Yea!!! WTN arrived in todays mail. So far it looks great. I read Brownies article first, great car Brownie, I'm really glad I never came across it and had to keep it here without the ability to finish it.

Until now I thought I was the only one that dropped everything when the WTN arrives to read through the many interesting new articles and classifieds.

Not that it matters, got my WTN today and was impressed with all that is in it. Sam, once again you have done a great job! As something happens with the custom roadster, I will post a photo or two. I picked up a nice 37 Hudson four door parts car off eBay a few weeks back that I am disassembling. Should have the body off the custom roadster by the first of the year.

    Sam,

Another spectacular Issue of WTN; I subscribe to more Car Mag's than I can read in a month, but WTN is the only one that I actually stop what I am doing when it arrives to skim every page until time to read more throughly....I enjoyed reading several articles so far, Somewhere West of Salt lake, (I can really relate to Brownie's vision), The cross country trip by the Morenti's was interesting, The interview with Mitzi Teague's sharing of racing Memories was enlightening, as well as all the helpful Tech Topics. I also like the catagory 'Members Products & Services' Heading... Keep up the great Job.

Bill, How can that be? I would expect the postmaster in Fontana would hand deliver your copy to you. I bet that bureaucrat is sitting at home reading your copy now. We need to get Sam to seal up those zip lock bags so we can tell when the postal workers are reading our WTN's. I would have sworn some of my pages were slightly faded like someone had already read the words a couple of times. Here's hoping yours shows up tomorrow.
