There is a 53 Hornet Coupe that I am buying from : House of Specialty Cars

Has anyone dealt with them before? If any HET members live close to there, I'd sure appreciate if they could check out the car. If not, I've got to take the "out of state, buying a car gamble". I've got some great pic's of the car.

What is this guy on or smoking? $199 grand? maybe he put the decimal point in the wrong place. Barret Jackson couldn't get this for the car.

I ended up not buying the car as I want to see it and since I don't work on most of my stuff, it would cost me about what the street value is. He will take $16,500 for it which, if the paint is as good as he says (an 8 out of 10), is a good deal in my mind if you do all your own work. Needs some wiring, some gauges and wipers dont work. Verifys no rust. Says it runs good but who knows. He has the original tires and rims. Can be a pretty car.0 -
I think 199 grand is pretty good when you take into consideration the rare solid gold engine block and the diamond head lights. Very rare options indeed and account for the rather large asking price. He may also be taking into consideration the fact it has a full tank of gas and we know how much that is worth.0
