I was looking for a manual that describes the body parts and assembly for a 34 Hudson Coupe. Does the 34 to 37 service manual have this information? I'm getting my coupe back from the sandblaster tommorrow and want to ensure I have all the proper seals, welting and parts for assembly. Thanks, Walt

    The Mechanical Procedures Manual for '34 thru '39 primarily deals with mechanical work - there are some body sections dealing with items such as windows, doors, & glass.

    You may find the '34 - '39 Body Parts Manual of value as it lists all the parts & is partially illustrated.

    If you're looking for illustrations you will want to find originals as the quality of illustrations & drawings in repros isn't that great.

    You may also find the Owners Manual of use depending on the areas of the car you're working on.

    I'm not aware that Hudson ever published such a book. They hadn't by 1937, at least, because I sure could have used it back in '71 when I bought my own '37! I relied a lot on the Parts Manual, because -- although illustrations were few -- there was a correct description of every single component of the car, including the size and quantity of each bolt (holding various components to the car). So I'd advise you to obtain such a book, then I'd advise you to look through the H-E-T roster and see if there isn't another '34 owner within driving distance of you. With any luck you can become friends with him / her, and get over to view the car, thus answering your questions firsthand.

    Dustymax, the '30-'39 Master Body Parts manual has a very small number of drawings or photos, only 2 of which deal with the '34-'35 (one of the sedan trunk, one of the seat track assy). There's useful info in the form of the parts lists, which can reveal which parts are the same as other models, but no really useful pic's.
