37 Terri - that manafold is for a 1955 & 1956 Hornet 308. It is different from the pure Hudson unit, in that the exhaust manifold part uses a different outlet style, and I don't beleive it is interchangable with the '52 thru '54 manifolds.

  • Thanks Jerry, QUE-- I would guess that on the hash bodys then they had to or at least did, change the exhaust routeing . So on the older cars would there be a clearance problem or just rerouteing the exhaust? Is the outlet location the same with a differant flange the differance ? I would'nt think exhaust outlet would stop it from fitting an engine, could go anywhere you wanted to from it . Fits a 308 block only ?
  • The exhaust flange on the 55-on Hudson 308 was made to accomodate Nash bodies. The Nash had a narrower engine bay so a modified manifold and flange were produced that were more narrower than the first{51-54} versions. As mentioned in the previous posts the new style intake manifold incorporated the outside tubing into the new casting, and had the exhaust manifold flange recast to allow for the new Nash body style. The flange is a tough part to come across. They were prone to breakage so that and the fact it was a limited production item{1955-56] makes it hard to find. Actually the intake manifold from a 55 Hudson will work just fine if you want to put it on an earlier stepdown.engine.
  • Thanks guys, getting up to speed here, that only leaves one Que for me then. What blocks will it fit,308 only ?
  • It will fit on a 232,262 and 308 if you use a header or can find a Hash exhaust manifold.
  • ALLRIGHTY !! Thanks guys , that takes care of it then. The numbers I gave are on the intake but the matching exhaust manifold and carbs are there also, everything but the aircleaners. Be nice to have them but not a must have to use the dual carbs.
