What Is The Proper Carb # 's For The Hornet Wa1's ? Are They 477s ?

    Direct from the 1948-1954 Master parts book: 1952 thru 1954 Hornet 308 used #WA-1 tag #2113S. I no longer have my 1955 parts books, so I'm not sure of the tag number on them, however, if you were to locate a pair of 2113S I'm sure your engine would run as you want it to.

  • 968 were jetted for the 262 and installed on the Wasps. The 2113S are the correct carb and jetting for the 308. Nothing stops you getting 968S and rejetting.

    No, I don't think thats right. 968s are on 52-3 hornets and 2113s are on 54s



    wasps had 990s for 52-3 and 2013s (not sure of that 54s #?)

    Here is the application of Hudson Carter WA-1 carburetors 1950 to 1954 for Left Hand Drive vehicles.



    Model Engine/Cars



    749S 232 all 1950 - 1954



    968S 308 Twin H 1952-1953



    990S 262 Twin H 1952 -1953



    2115S 262/308 Single Carb 1954



    2114S 262 Single Carb 1954



    2113S 308 Twin H 1952-1954



    2009SA 202 Single Carb 1953-1954 Jet

    On this list I made two mistakes. The 2114S and 2115S are WGD's.

    Right off the Carter Spec pages----



    968's used on 1952-53 Hornet (2 Req'd)



    2113's used on 1954 Hornet (2 req'd)



    Only difference I can see in specs is in the low speed jet tubes, 968 is .035", 2113 is .033".



    The Metering Rod (Vacumeter type) is also slightly different. Economy step is different, (.001"!!), Middle step .005", Power step .003". Not much difference there. I don't think one could feel the difference or calculate any improvement/loss in mileage.

    Mars, the only listing I have for Twin-H JET carbs are for 2013S, not 2113S or SA.. The major difference between the 968/2113's and the 2013S is the base, 1 1/2" versus 1 1/4" for the smaller Jet carbs. All other specs almost identical.

    I made another mistake, the Jet uses a 2013SA not a 2113SA. The SA comes from the Hudson Master Parts Catalog 1948-1954 Models . The "A" may not mean anything.
