Hi just finished appraising a 1918 Hudson fire truck that has the name HUNTER FIRE DEPT., on the side. Would anyone know anything about this vehicle and would anyone be interested in it.

You might want to consider advertising this in the Hudson club's magazine, where it will find a larger audience than this forum. You can do this at no charge, by working with a current Club member. If you're interested, contact me at Xdetailed@verizon.net (remove the "X" before sending).

Do you have any photos of it available?
  • There are antique fire engine organizations throughout the country. You should be able to locate some with a Google search. You should be able to find someone who could tell you about this treasure, and possibly locate a buyer.

The group in Virginia is ODHFS - Old Dominion Historical Fire Society. The newsletter includes articles about old equipment, has ads of units for sale. If "HUNTER FIRE DEPT." is still in existence, they might want it.

I'd like some pic's and yes I would be interested. I'd like to know the particulars like how much, condition, where is it, etc. You can PM me or e-mail me at hetnptelcel@aol.com (drop the het). Thanks, Niels
  • I Have afew, But due to the cramped spot the truck was parked in I could hardly move around it. Unfortunately, I do not know how to attach a photo. If you email me at emailbmaclean@mts.net (remove "email") I can attach some photos to the reply.

Hay Rick, When you have a minute will you explain to us want-a-bees how to post a photo directly in the body of our threads?

Here's a thread that explains what I do most of the time, when posting photos. My method is the last post, at the bottom -

    http://www.classiccar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9646

Of course, if the photo is already 'hosted' on the web somewhere, it is usually fairly easy. I just 'copy' it, then 'paste' it right in... (Most eBay photos are done that way).

Here's an eBay photo, copied from a current auction on eBay - they're auctioning the car to the right of the fire truck:

FYI- Don't know if this is the fire truck being spoken about but the seller of the car said the truck in this picture was a 37 White, not a Hudson.

You are correct - This is NOT the firetruck mentioned in the initial posting of this thread, and as indicated, it isn't a 'Hudson' (However the car to the right is an Essex).

You sure that the car to the right of the truck is an Essex as the radiator badge looks like a Hudson triangle to me

Merry Xmas & a Happy, Prosperous & HET New Year to All.
  • Yup its a Hudson Super Six took a peak at the ad....
