Vote here for a Hudson
http://info.detnews.com/redesign/forums/autostalk/lettersindex.cfm?topic=car_of_week071207
The 1940 Hudson owned by Hedley and Patti Bennett of Ontario,
Canada is up for Joyride of the week at the above site. Headley is a really great Hudson member with several nice Hudsons.
Lets all get out the vote, a Hudson has won everytime, bettering the competitive makes.
Maybe the Detroit News is on to building circulation thru the use of Hudson cars

The photo on the Detroit News site dosen't do this car justice...it's a fabulous automobile. First of all, it's big...7-passenger, 8 cyl, Country Club. 128-inch wheelbase, 3,700 pounds...practially a limousine. And second, Hedley's has every option, including overdrive, runningboard delete, deluxe radio, 15-inch wheels, and on and on. Thirdly, they didn't make very many, so they're rare. Fourthly, it's mostly original. Finally, Hedley has this one set up as a highway cruiser...he motors at 75 on the freeway in it and travels long distances with no problemo. When I first saw this car in Hedley's garage a few years ago, I thought 'if I could just have this one, I'd never ask for another collector car.' Ever had that feeling about a car you saw? Wow. :cool:0

This beautiful car brings back many memories! My uncle bought a gorgeous Naples tan Country Club 8 w/overdrive in 1940, and this probably began my love affair with the Hudson 8. My aunt and uncle were kind enough to take me with them on a trip to Chicago from Canton, Illinois, in 1941 or 1942, as I recall. I imagine the distance was around 200 miles each way. I was so impressed with the beautiful brown upholstery and the luxurious ride and quietness of that car! I bought my first Hudson in 1949, a 1936 Custom six. I have had many Hudsons plus a 1933 Terraplane 8 over the years, but my only current ones are a 1950 Commodore 8 sedan and a 1951 Commodore 8 coupe. I did vote for Hedley Bennett's 1940; it deserves to win! D. Kruzan0

Beautiful car! Not many with the "bubble" trunk lid, it's the only one I've ever seen. Really improves the looks of the car!0
