Per Matt this is a this 1954 Super Jet Club Sedan (2-door); I notice that it has 2 pcs SS trim on the front fenders and door and apparently it is missing the lower rear SS (I like it better that way);

On this 1953 Super Jet Sedan (4-door), I notice that is has NO SS trim on the sides.

On this 1954 Super Jet Club Sedan (2-door), I notice 3 pcs SS trim on the sides.

On this 1954 Super Jet Sedan (4-door) w/continental kit, I notice 4 pcs of SS trim along the sides.

The 54 Club Sedan (2-door; B/W) with only the 2 pcs SS trim looks best of all!

I really like the 54 Sedan w/Continental Kit, especially the 2-tone green colors combination; I suppose at this stage this is the way I plan to restore mine. This one might get the 4.3L engine eventually. After all, the engine and tranny are already rebuilt, and they need a new home.

Motorbase.com seems like a fairly good source for Jet photos.

  • Hey John, I agree that the green looks great on a Jet, especially if it has a green interior. It took a while for me to get used to the green interior with the factory Toro Red exterior that's on mine.:eek:

    The B&W "1953" 2 door with 2 pcs of stainless is actually a '54 that's missing the rear piece of stainless. The easy way to identify the '54's from the '53's are the "Bumps" that run the width of the grill bar. They are smooth on the '53's and on the '54 Family Club Sedan (stripper 2 door).

    In my experience, '53's Super Jets do not have the stainless trim on the side, but I reserve the right to be wrong!!!
  • Now this is what I bought too; same body style.

    Might just have to build another just like it, color-wise.

    I like the way it sits too, but I want mine sitting much lower all the way around; Mustang II front suspension, Ford posi 9" w/disc brakes, Aluminum racing wheels, Aluminum driveshaft, electric-powered cutouts, flame throwers, drag radials, seat belts, good sound system, cruise control, fully insulated inside....i.e., street/strip all the way!

    SHARP!

    That is one sharp Jet. It has "Fish" Carbs on it, and I understand it was plenty fast!

    Here is apparently a photo of the original interior of a green Jet.

    Pretty nice combo with the gray.
  • My Super Jet is a 53', But I put a 54' grille in it cause the other one was dented and the 54' was in good shape, and cause I liked the look of it better. Mine is the brown colored one, top left on Sarah Youngs web site.

    53' or 4 Super jet
  • Yesterday am, I drove to Poplar Bluff, MO, to purchase a tinted w/shading Jet windshield that I needed for the 2-door Super Jet Club Sedan.

    Cost => 450.oo

    Bought it off an ebay listing that no one would bid the minimum (450), after it closed, and the guy would not budge on lowering the price.

    Seller said right after I bought it verbally and made plans to pick it up at 8am on Sunday, he rec'd a call wanting to buy it @ $ 450.oo.

    SOLD; they ain't making them any more! This one was a replacement style, sitting on the shelf for 50+ years.

    Here are quite a collection of various years of great-looking Hudson cars.

    Barry's car is in this URL too.

    One "Jet" is actually a Jetliner; at least a couple have the wrong year attached.

    One B/W photo'd 54 Super Jet is wrongly-called a "Jetliner". few errors

    It would be good if the captions were up-dated to reflect the actuality of the car photos represented. ... Maybe in time.

    Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
