Stepdown Car Cover?

edited November -1 in HUDSON
Was going to call California Car Cover tomorrow and order one for my 49 Conv. I have used them in the past for other cars and have been happy with the quality and fit. That being said, has anyone ordered one from them for a step down? If not, from anyplace else?

Thx

California Cover on my 49 sedan in their stormguard material. Not the

cheapest for sure but it works and fits great. If I had a gripe at all it

would be that the cover needs reinforcement in the area that covers

the hood ornament. I added that myself.:)

I've gotten two covers from CCC for stepdowns and one for my '47 sedan. Am happy with all, though I agree with TwinH that it'd be nice to have a reinforcing piece at the hood triangle (an old washcloth works well in the meantime!)
  • I too have a CCC car cover. Excellent with same shortcommings others have mentioned. I also would like to see provision made for mirrors and possibly the roof antenna.
  • Bought their latest & greatest lightweight cover - actually paid extra for "visor space" (nothing too good for the baby) can only echo what others have said. Wish they weren't so proud $$ of their product, would have preferred to see mirror pockets (none), this may be something to take up with the order clerk.

I also got one for my '49 from CCC. No problems, nice fit and quality material. Much better than the one I purchased years ago for my '54 from another company.
  • Thanks for the comments. I called CCC to order one and mentioned the comments made here about the hood ornament and mirrors. The woman agreed it was an issue and offered to send me out three mirror pockets free of charge (one for the hood ornament, two for the mirrors). I am going to have my trimmer cut holes in the appropriate spots and sew them it to fit. Not the easiest solution, but one that should work well. Anyway, fyi.

    Got mine from:

A bit better pricing than CCC, same products. You will need to price it from a Hornet since they tend to be rather limited in their size selection by models of Hudsons.
