Parting out a 49

I am in the process of parting out a 49 Super Six 4 door. Hate to part out a Hudson but the body, doors, fenders and perimeter frame on this one are SHOT. Has a complete engine and straight drive transmission, good radiator and rear glass.

This is one of the cars I posted about buying nearly a year ago. Am finally getting them to my house and evaluating them. One chap from this forum wanted the grille stainless pieces but due to a hard drive crash I have lost his email address. Whoever you are if you still need these pieces let me know. I am located in North Carolina and am happy to ship any of the smaller parts.

Also, thanks to all who bought parts from me at the Pigeon Forge meet. Had a great time there and met many fine folks.

  • Hi Birdman,

    Iknow you said that the fenders are shot but what kind of condition is the passenger side lower front fender piece that houses the rectangle park light assembly. If it's any good I would be interested. Thanks, Lisa G
  • Lisa G. that part is no good. Sorry!!
  • Do you still have any of those stainless steel parts from the 1949 four door?
  • Have all of the SS from around the windows and windshield. Don't think I have the SS from around the rear window as it was not on the car when I started stripping. There was some trim in the car that the previous owner removed and the rear window trim may be there along with some body trim. Let me know what you need and I will look.

    1949 Super series did not have stainless around the rear window,only senior models.
  • Birdman;

    is the shifter knob still in good shape? If so I want it.

  • Shifter knob was AWOL when I got the car. Sorry. If one of the other Hudsons I bought has one I will let you know. Still trying to get them all home. Only 5 to go.
  • Birdman, Is the chromed casting that the shifter handle goes into on the shifter column any good? It's the piece that the shift handle actually goes into. I discoverd a crack in mine at the set screw holes and it will not stay tight.

    Thanks in advance.
