$16.50 for a color ad. I guess I'm old fashioned. I remember when the price structure was thus:
black & white (small) - 50 cents
color (small) - 75 cents
black & white (large) - $1.00
color (large) - $1.25
two page b&w - $1.00-$1.25 maybe
two page color - $1.25-$1.50
Of course prices varied from dealer to dealer but not by much. At a car oriented flea market, back in the 70's, I found a couple nice Hudson ads from the teens for 25 cents apiece. When I paid the seller for them he asked if I was interested in Hudson ads. Then he pulled out a box with something like 50 ads - said he'd sell me the whole box for $5 because he was tired of lugging them to shows and not selling them. He was happy and I was ecstatic!!!!!!!! Later sold some - still got a few of them.
I bought a lot of ads, back in the 70's from a fellow in Connecticut - 2, 3 years back I saw an ebay auction for a bunch of Hudson ads on CD; and I won the bid. Name of the seller looked familiar - it was the fellow from CT.

With three-dollar fuel, $50-$100 swap meet stall fees, $75.00 Motel 6 rooms, etc, the days of the dollar ad are long gone.
Factor in inflation, and the '70s ad prices still translate into a comparable price in today's money.0 -

I bought that same ad at a flea market for $2 at the same market I got about 30 ads from all years. Average 2-4 bucks. I paid $4 for double page ads in perfect shape. $16 is a ripoff. These ads went out it 1000's of magazines. I have found that if you look around a bit you will always find the exact same thing for less. Case in point the idiot on ebay selling an owners manual for $160 I bought that exact same manual in the dealer envelope the complete kit with cover and inserts for $25. It had never been in a car. Was a dealer replacement. And never buy those online. Always look at your local flea market.0

Whatever the price that is a georgous post war ad. I wish I could find an add that nice for a '42 Hudson. I've only found one ad in all the years searching and it is a black and white ad showing the front of the car. I would gladly pay todays prices for a nice '42 color ad!0
