1972 Clifford Research Catalog

In cleaning out some drawers today, this was found at the bottom. I scanned it and thought some of the material was interesting. The most interesting part is the amount of new parts Jack Clifford handled.

Page 2 describes Jacks Tuning specs.

  • Fuel injection and 6 carbs. Who has these stashed in his garage?

There is an emblem on this Page for the International Hudson Owners Association, was this another Hudson club? I knew there was a T.H.E. for a while but had never heard of this one.

  • This page was a Short Bock Assembly for a 308. $25.00 extra to get 7X Block Relief.

The whole catalog is loaded on Classic Cars Photo Gallery.

  • This is interesting, back in 1972 Jack is trying to get up enough orders to have oil pump drive gears and rings made.

Is anyone using either the fuel injection or Weber systems? Any of that stuff still around? Have never seen any for sale. I'm especially interested in the Weber carb system. BTW, thanks for taking the time to post that info- very interesting, esp. to those of us with less than 35 years in the hobby:)

I just picked up a set of headers from Larry at Clifford Performance. They sure don't look like the ones in the pictures, and I have no idea how those would fit anyway. It is really tight in there with the shorty's. Wish the heads were 125.00 like in that catalog. They get 800.00 now. Still cool you can get some of this stuff and Larry is a real nice guy.

    FYI

I believe Randy Maas is running the Triple Weber Set-Up with Alky on his drag car.

Seen another one for sale at the Auburn Nationals.

I bought one of the Weber manifolds from Clifford a couple of years ago. They had I believe only one left in stock. Not sure now.
