Have any of you found a close match for the original red on the Twin-H air cleaners?

Hi, Jerry, how you doing? Fair skies and temps in the eighties here in Edina. I was going to say in my posting that it seems to me that I've seen different reds used. I'll give you a call. There's something else I wanted to talk to you about.0

I have seen some originals that appeared to be a little more blue/red and some that appear a little more orange/red . I have some oil bath cleaners that are original and have the orange tint. I have some 54-55 non oil bath originals that look a little on the blue side. The Ford engine red by Duplicolor is readily available and I use it on all of mine. I'm sure Bill has an expert opinion. I'll bow to his experience.0

Pretty sure mine are original and are a darker shade of red. Who knows
what 50 yrs. has done to affect the color, but the lettering has held up
extremely well for as thin as it is. Anybody have any idea how it was
originally applied? silkscreened? Don't mean to hijack but any ideas on why
there's no oval around my lettering?0 -

Probably originally applied as a water laid transfer. This could also explain the lack of an oval surround.0 -
The set on ebay right now-one has a circle and one does not. Any thoughts?0

Its seems to me every aircleaner I have seen on a 54 engine did not have the oval around the letters. All the Twin H air cleaners prior to 54 did. Just from what I have seen of original Twin-H aircleaners.0

If you can find a rattle can of Chrysler Engine Red, it is a good match for the Twin-H air cleaners. It is also the correct color for the '54 Hornet engine blocks.0

My thanks to all of you guys for sharing your thoughts!0
