In 54 at least it appears to be the same as the engine. In stripping the trans down for rebuild after hotanking and stripping, the trans showed the same orange/red color as the engine.0

Tranny color was same as engine. BTW, Dupli-Color's 500 degree engine spray paint, in color "universal gold" is a really close match to the original Hornet engine color '51-'53.0
