Tubular bumpers
Me again with another question for all to ponder and think about. Plus I'd love to find out where they come from. Tubular bumpers. My car has them. The front one is a single 3 in. diam. and the rears are bumperettes on either side of the spare=O=. I've searched the internet high and low and only found one other picture of a car with them, a red 29 from somewhere in Austrailia. Were they aftermarket offerings or factory options or were they only found in custom coach shops? Were they unpopular adding to their scarceness? Anybody got any ideas or info? Thanks once more to all responders. You've all been so very helpful. Phil

While I have not done research on this. Tubular bumpers are on several Hudsons that I have seen that were earlier than 1927. Bumpers were a option or dealer installed, or owner installed thru aftermarket. Also see other makes earlier than 29 with tubular. I can only think style, or the ability to make flat bumpers with spring to them replaced the tubular style.0
