  • Ah, the rich history of our cars warms my heart. After the winter of never ending cold and snow, my heart needs a little warming.
  • Man, and they talk about trading paint now. I guess in those days they could race and crash and no one had to jump out of their car to kick someones butt. It was all part of racing, that and men still had honor and didn't run around like spoiled little kids threatening each other. Kind of makes me glad I was part of that era for awhile.

Harry, they had more than their share of butt kicking back in those days - difference was NASCAR didn't have 40 rules against it. LOL Fans didn't see it - there wasn't the bathroom to car to race coverage back then by TV cameras like there is today.

Back when Stock Cars looked like our highway Cars--

    - and were actually same car with just a few minor 'tricks' to 'strenghten & super Tune'... Drivers were men that could drive the Cars Track to Track, occassionally towbar a spare car, then race 250 laps on rough dirt surfaces (usually Fairgrounds), often several times a week, unlike today, without power steering, roll bars, fuel cells, good helments, seatbelts, and inner liner tires. And, when necessary, they scuffled with their helments Off, unlike today....
