It's either in eastern Oklahoma or western Arkansas. My understanding is that it's an all-or-nothing sale.
There is a contact e-mail address - ask them!0 -
Wow, quite an inventory!0

No, no, it's between Shelbyville and Springfield, just north of Pixley and Mt. Pilot.

I don't know how helpful it is, but at least it gives some background.
Created in 2006-August-07 I presume.
I remember seeing the Oliverscars site at least one year ago.0 -
I found two of the Hudsons, but could not find the rest.
This looks like a '42, but I have been know to be wrong.
Here is a '48-'49 Super coupe.0 -

man, there a lot of topless.. sedans and coupes running around somewhere, lol. i understand covering the top after the inserts rot out, but where did the rest of the car go ?? into piles of parts no less in all those bins and piles of hoods and fenders. one pic i looked at, shot down from about 10 feet. he was standing on top of a pile of hoods and fenders, theres a green coupe? in the middle with stuff piled on it. looked to be saved some what by its hiding place. too much,. did notice a gst # painted on a wall, thats a tax number up here. mayby it was close, i e-mail and no responce. did not see the date till later. lol. dermott.:D0

Dave53-7C, I think it was Ontario Canada. I'm out here in So Cal and BillA is also. I think he would have heard about that place.
Hoosiercrosley, I noticed that also about the glass!0 -
Ontario, CANADA.0

Let me clarify things for you. The site owner is registered as being in California.0
-
Gonna pose a thought/guess--When you bring up the site at the top it says --Stuarts Gallerys-- and you can buy prints for 15 cents each--just someone trying to sell pics and hard telling how old they really are or where they originated. Maney yrs ago I remember a truck stop somewhere in Mo I think or along that route headed west where everything in the emiediate area was SOUTH FORTY"S something or other. A number of diff bussinesses all apperantly owned by the same people. All of it pretty run down even then . Somehat of a rural area. If I remember correctly the trees/ vegitation,/ soil etc. was much like in the pics. All of it long gone. Anyone recognise the vegitation in the pics ? BUD0
-
Nothing to clarify, Dave...the site SERVER is shown as an Ontario, CANADA location. Just clarifying for ya...0
-
So what's your point? The server is in Canada, the cars in Oklahoma and the seller, Stuart Pionteck, is in California. land and cars supposedly sold as of 11/07.0
-
Actually the SERVER is not shown to be in Toronto the DOMAIN record is shown to be on the server in Toronto. Further the server shown is Network Solution Inc's server as you know they are the domain registrar. So if you are clarifying that Network Solutions has a server in Toronto you are correct. If you are clarifying that Olive Cars have a server in Toronto you are incorrect. Info shown states the registered owner of the DOMAIN is in California the domain record in this case is shown on the Toronto server. The actual server could be anywhere in Canada, USA or the world.
I would then say what does this have to do with Junk yards. I look at the pics and say where is the snow LOL I live in Canada where is the snow.....we only have summer for one day of the year so they must have taken the pics quickly.0 -
Whoa! can we get a cease and desist on the geek speak! This is an old car site! For talking 'bout old cars. You can find plenty of other sites out there that cater to yur kind.0
-
I know I know I hate myself for posting that geek talk....forgive me to much time in server rooms as dulled my senses.0
-
Anyway we've all enjoyed the post, the pics and all, keeps us dreaming of the day we'll run accross an unkown. I'd bet my lunch money it was the old South Forty I referred to as that is a route I often traveled and even back then it had the looks of being headed for "out of business" . Maybe somebody will run accross a new old one for us to drool over. Thanks for the post, BUD0
-
The point is - has ANYONE emailed these people to find out where, EXACTLY (city, we've pretty much figured they are likely in OK) the CARS are??? Personally, I don't give a shiite about where the other crap is, where are the damn CARS???0
-
Now, now, let's not get our undies in a bundle over this.0

I know of a yard like that in Fontana if it is still there. The owner was from LA, a postman I think he told me who bought up cars and transported them to Fontana. I used to stop and try to talk him out of a car but he wouldn't part with anything, planned on restoring them all when he retired. I haven't been by there in quite a while so I'm not sure he is still there.

Harry,
What sort of cars did this guy have? If there were any Hudsons, I bet they've relocated to a different location in Fontana.
On one hand, some people say that these guys shouldn't hord cars and let them sit. However, the flip side is that many of the cars they've collected might not be here without them.0 -
Dave;
that guy had cars from every year I could think of but I have no idea if there were any Hudsons in the mix. I would guess most of the cars were from the 50's and 60's but it was like every car he found on his route for sale he bought and hauled out to Fontana. He was putting up security fencing the last time I saw his place as it was along the tracks and lots of people jumped his fence to look at the cars or steal parts off them. I need to go look and see if he is still there.Maybe the next time I go down and see Bill.

Harry,
You'll have to admit, it's an interesting way to fund one's retirement. If he's still there, it sounds like he needs to increase security or move to an area less traveled. With all the local and EPA regulations, it would be nearly impossible for one man to run that collection as a public wrecking yard. I would think that keeping things private makes buying cars and parting them out more feasible. So, are California wrecking yards all they're cracked-up to be? In the Midwest, cars in our yards are usually rust buckets, but mechanical and interior parts survive fairly well. I guess it must be the opposite there.0
