Parts book shows high compression head "complete with cover". If it has a separate cover it must be very different than the standard head. Has anyone ever seen one of these or have any informatin about it? Iron or aluminum?

    yes, they are quite interesting!

There was one for sale at the last Dearborn National - I bought it & gave it to my buddy for his Railton.

It is a 2 piece iron head with a special 1 pc. copper gasket between the heads. They had an alum. cover over the head which was std. equip. for Railtons on some models.

    They are extremely rare.
  • Do you mean that it was divided front and rear - or divided some other way?

no, it's is divided front to rear, a lower 1/2 that sits on the block, then a copper gasket, then the top 1/2 and the cover uses the block studs to hold it on top of the entire assembly.
