    FYI

If you can find a manifold would be great. If not, check with your local welding Shops. They can pre heat, weld, then slow cool to be good as new. If no local Shops, perhaps the Split Exh Manifold Service Company mentioned elsewhere in this Forum could repair it for you.

  • I had my manifold welded with some filler that is fed by torch into the break, then we wrapped the whole manifold in insulation and let it set to a couple of days to slowly cool. It worked great and you can't see the repair, amazing stuff.

Here is a company that repairs cracked and damaged cast iron and other cast metals.

  • post a pic,i can probably fix it for you.jim
  • I've got the same problem...trying JB weld..don't know if it will work.
  • where your ear is broken on the flange,i can install a new flange and make it appear stock.

  • Welding cast iron is no big deal. Anyone that can weld decently can do it. I use a stick welder, nicad rod, preheat with torch and keep it hot with torch , gradually reduceing torch heat after welding, then depending on how critical the peice is while still hot I sometimes bury it in sand or any fine dirt to let it cool slowly.--- While I've done some amazeing things with JB Weld I don't recomend it for exhaust manifolds. It does not penitrate like arc weld does to combine the metal parts for strength , and will not have the same expansion/contraction rate as the cast iron. likely to develope cracks even tho at first it looks good. Try welding on some scrap, you'll find it not hard at all. BUD
