Passenger side front door post.. should be a triangular shaped plate ..if it's painted over you may need to scuff it with some light steel wool or something. Serial number should start with "7A " if it 's a 1951 Hornet. If it has it's original motor you can also find the same serial number on the passenger side of the front of the block next to the water pump. should match the one on the door post. If not, it has a different engine than it left the factory with.
  • It's 4A5336 and the motor matches. It is a 4 door. Thanks for the info.:)
  • Sounds like it would be a Pacemaker if it is 4A
  • thanks for the info. i will look into it. it is in need of a major restoration.

yep if 4A definately a '51 Pacemaker Sedan .... which would make the engine 232 c.i.d 6 cyl

    relatively low production number.
  • can you direct me to a good source of information on these vehicles?

Best single thing you can do is join the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club. http://www.hudsonclub.org

The magazine has many advertisers, parts, etc.- best 30 bucks or so you can spend. This board is more or less the "official" Hudson board, and is another good source.

    You're already there. :)
  • is there a FAQ page or a resource page that i am missing? general model info, production numbers and options would be awesome. we are going to put this car on ebay for parts or restoration and i would like to know as much as possible so whomever buys it knows exactly what they are getting.
