I know this is not Hudson related, but I felt the need to share this with my fellow Hudsonites. My son-in law Dale who is a medic assigned to the 82nd Airborne (Fort Bragg)and just got back two weeks ago from Iraq has been awarded the Bronze Star, which reads;

For exceptionally meritorious service while assigned as the Senior Treatment Noncommisioned Officer during Operation Freedom. Sergent First Class Scherbergers outstanding performance, expertise and contributions were instumental to the unit's overall success during combat operations, his actions reflect distinct credit on him, The Multinational Division-Baghdad and the United States Army.

Thanks for your support of our servicemen and women and please continue to do so.

Thanks also to all of you that have served in the Military

Thanks for letting me brag a bit. Luckily the way it stands he will not have to go back again.

  • Jim, he sounds like a fine young man. I'm glad we have guys like him doing the good job for our side. Your daughter is a lucky young woman to have him.

    When I travel and see service men and women in the airports my heart always goes out to them and their familys. It is not always possible to thank them individually, so I appreciate you sharing the information about your son in law. Please give him my thanks. It looks like he is going to have to get signed up for the forum. Ed
  • Our country likes to overly use the term "Hero". Such is not the case with our military and with your son in law. God bless him!

    You should be proud, as am I , of your son-in-law and all of our service men and women. I was a Sgt in the Army during the Vietnam war and our country wasn't as supportive of our returning men and women back then. I am glad to see the American people supporting our troops! If you see a service man or woman in a restaurant, pay for his or her meal and thank them for risking their lives for our freedom.

    Again, congradulations and welcome home.

    At our national HET business meeting for the members, one of the first things we do is to honor and thank the past and present members of the service and the police and fire personel for all they have done to protect us.

    It is a very meaningful part of the meeting.
