New Floor Pans ?

I've heard several people say the fit on the eBay floor pans isn't up to snuff. Personally, I'd forget using any NOS rubber that is 50+ years old. As far as the NOS fuel pump diaphragm goes, it would not be compatible with modern gasolines. There are plenty of people on this forum that can help you with fresh rebuild parts or a rebuilt pump.0

Antique Auto Parts Cellar sells Fuel Pump Repair Kits and rebuilts them. His website is a gold mine of infomation on fuel pumps. Well worth reading.

look up AMC fuel pump, on this forum, and find the detail, with a minor amount of work, an 83 AMC (258 6 cylinder) concorde fuel pump, will bolt to a stepdown motor, you need to route the fuel line at a bit of an angle, at the pump, but it is nice having a pump available at any autoparts store in the US. and it's only about $20 for a lifetime pump.0

Last I knew Ken Amman had Repro stepdown front floor pans and Ken U had some front pans for '46-'47 cars....which I think also fit '40-'42. Please in the interest of good info correct me if I'm wrong. I know Ken Amman was looking to sell his parts business.0

Ken informed me that they are not going to be selling the floor pans for stepdowns due to the cost of manufacturing - although at the time I was in contact with him he still had some right-hand pans left for sale...
Sad news for stepdown owners for sure. The quality of pans I got from Ken and installed in the 49 were top-notch and fit like a glove, plus came with the correct holes holes punched and clips inserted for the transmission tunnel cover, all with the lower stiffeners and wire hold downs..as close to an original as you could get.
My understanding is that the outfit that made the last run of pans for Ken either went out of business/was sold or something and that the molds where destroyed or lost.
New molds would need to be made for a stamping and my guestimate (without knowing anything about the process) it would be 5-10k for the molds and another 5-10k for a run of pans...so it'd take a long time to recoup the cost of the molds.0 -
Hmmm. I thought Bill A said he had floor pans now.0

I installed these in a 54 Hornet two weeks ago. They fit better than I expected but did require some minor tweeking to make them work.
I would use them again especially at their current price.0 -
