Hi Dave,
You might try Egge Machine Co. This link will take you to their webpage http://www.egge.com/ . Just point on the catalog tab at the top of the page, click Engine Parts, and that will take you to the page to enter your application info. They show new pistons, ring set, and wrist pin bushings. Just select piston the size you need in the drop down box next to the Model: 161 CI .
Hope this is a help.

Give Robin Bailey an email HETbaileyessex28@gmail.com and drop the HET of course.
He just went thru this with a horror story of the supplier sending the wrong piston pin keepers which came out and ruined the block.0 -
Hi Dave, you might try Lester Harris in Minden, Nevada. His number is 775-267-25590

Lester came thru for me. Engine now altogether & working well. Had my first outing last Friday since the problem in Feb. Essex running real well!! Lester even sent the pistons to NZ before he got my check. Thanks for the referral Steve.:):)0 -
Have you tried Bruce Ardell in Wanganui ?
Phone / fax (06) 342 77130 -
pistons from caterpillar d4 6v 7v pilot motor fit they have the same pin height & diameter as your essex. They have 2 compression rings & 1 oil ring above the pin & 1 oil ring below but don't use this as it comes out of the bore.I have used these in my 1930 hudson for many years without any problems.I believe the part no. is 2F3665 hope this helps

Yes I did try Bruce Ardell. He could import for me a set of the Aussie made ones but at approx 3 times what Lester charged even with postage & foreign exchange conversion. Also some folk I know are critical of the Aussie made ones, personally I have no experience of them.0 -
