Stepdown Front Anti-Sway Bar
A long while back, someone recommended an upgraded replacement for a stock front anti-sway bar, for anyone interested in improving their cornering ability. I bookmarked this link back then, and was just revisiting the issue. I was hoping to verify that this will indeed fit a stepdown?
Thanks for the help.

Wouldn't it be quicker, easier and cheaper to keep the stock bar and use beefier link pins and urethane bushings?0

It's the diameter of the sway bar that makes a difference in the stiffness not so much the end pins and bushings.0 -
Sure, but how fast of a turn do you want to throw a 50+ year old car into. Installing better link pins and bushings will make a world of difference as will installing better shocks and lower profile tires.0

Someone told me once that 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix will bolt onto the pre-step down (40' thru 47'). Is that right? Anyone know for sure?0

One of the problems with the stock Hudson front sway bar is the fact that the ends where the end links fasten taper down, bars should have been the same size end to end. I put new front springs and gas shocks on my 54 Hornet coupe and I felt that it still wallowed too much. I had Quickor in Portland Oregon bend up an 1 1/8 bar, as inspector Clouseau said the problem is solved. An aftermarket that fits a 62 thru 64 chev impala is very close to an exact fit also.
