In Escondido, CA today, the American Heritage Car show, which benefits our local historical society, had 4 Hudsons entered and three took away trophies. Quentin Roberts brought a '53 Hornet cpe and trophied, his brother Gregg brought his '54 Hornet Hollywood and trophied, Jake Edmonston brought his '50 modified Pacemaker, no trophy and I brought my recently restored '36 Terraplane series 62 sedan to its first show and I also got a trophy. It is interesting that this is primarily a Hot Rod show and the prizes are all peoples choice, registered car owners only, vote and almost every original car got a trophy. Of course some great Hot Rods trophied also. 26 trophies were awarded. It was a great showing for Hudsons. People loved them, the Terraplane really got a lot of interest. We need to keep getting these cars out there, people want to see them!

Bill, I was in India 3 times between 1998 - 2001 and I looked all over for Hudsons. I even found a great car show in Jaipur that I attended. Lauraine couldn't believe that I found a car show to attend in India! But alas, no Hudsons. I did hear that there is a great private car collection in Mumbai (formerly Bombay), but I didn't have the lead time to contact the owner. I would be interested in corresponding with your new customer from Delhi!

Buzz and I are on the car show committee in Escondido, he didn't bring a car because we basically run around all day helping out. However the show honored Harold Mazziere, drag racing legend from Escondido. Last year it honored Ted Cyr, also a drag racing legend from Escondido.

    R. E. - looks like "home", LOL!

Does ? (can't remember his name) still have my '53 HH or did he show something else?

Too bad Buzz couldn't bring the touring limousine.

    Nice photo!

    Pete,

Fred Enstrom still has your '53 HH but he never brings it to anything. He is sort of a curmudgeon, he has quit the Hudson club because, "we never do anything" and he stopped coming to this show because he didn't get a trophy for his '05 Buick, or whatever it was. He is real high maintenance. I wish that he would selll your old Hollywood to someone who would use it!!!!

    Right, Fred.

Too bad he's "pulled into his shell" & not showing his cars. He still have those very early motorcycles?

Does he go to Cruise Night still?

Kind of odd as I believe you guys told me that after he got it from me he spent a lot of $ "upgrading" it, having Charlie install disc brakes, etc.
