Have been in correspondence (via e-mail) with an HETer & Italia owner who is interested in the Derham limousine which belonged for a long time to HETer Harold Jornt. Sure nice if one of "us" would buy it rather it becoming part of the "auction circus".

Some of you might remember Harold who resided in Wisc. before retiring & moving to Calif. He also had a '29 H dual cowl phaeton which is still in Calif.

Is that Harold's 29 Hudson Phaeton that was in the San Jose Calif. National picture section on here ?

Couldn't agree more. I personally would love to have that car, but all the other projects make it prohibitive right now. I'm sure it will go in the 75K range, at least. Make a great addition to a Hudnut's collection.
  • I would love to own that 1929 Hudson Phaeton as is. I was told by Perry Spring that talked with Harold, the person that owned the car used it in a horse show that jumped over the Hudson. It has hoof marks on the doors and that is so cool. Ron
  • I Sold Art Astor The 46 Convert That Is In His Collection And Was Next High Bidder When He Bought The Derham Several Years Ago I Went To 21k And He Bid 22, I Might Make The Auction On Sat And Sunday But Cant Make It Friday As Am On Dialysis, Hope They Hold Off On The Hudsons Till The Weekend. Might Buy A Few Bill Albright

Yes, Harold found it in Okla. when he was working on the 8/10 Cord project in Broken Arrow.

When he got it it had no 2nd (dual) cowl, but all the rest of the hardware was there. Harrah's had the cowl, but no hinges, so offered to make him a cowl if he'd loan them his hinges to duplicate. This would lead credence to the story of being a "rodeo car".

Harold had a new top & leather seats made for it while in Okla. but could never afford the body & paint work it needs, and has never gotten, LOL!
